Foundation: The Philosophical Underpinning of IM at Coweeta LTER
Philosophy regarding hardware/software/data structures:  Our philosophy is grounded in a commitment to provide hardware and software solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, standardized, open-source, and most of all, amenable to real-world solutions.  We are a working research program, funded by taxpayers, and we take our commitment to both our researchers and the public very seriously.

Practical Application of the Coweeta LTER IM Philosophy:
We work with standards...to participate in the worldwide community.
We work with open-source...to connect to the worldwide community.

We are obsessed with fine-tuning the navigation of the Coweeta LTER web site.  Coweeta LTER's website warehouses over fifty thousand files, over 1000 thousand publications, and hundreds of thousands of lines of data.  The balance between providing too much information and too little can be a challenge, but our commitment is to find this balance.
